On Sunday, November 22, the Baptist community gathered at First Baptist Church in America to congratulate Rev. Dr. Tom Wiles for earning his Doctorate of Ministry from Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Molly Marshall, President and Professor of Theology and Spiritual Formation, was on hand to deliver the message and to re-enact the hooding.

Roger Williams gathered the First Baptist Church in America in 1638 on the bedrock of religious liberty, with its principles of soul freedom and the separation of church and state. Together, we continue our ministry of welcome and liberation.
This congregation honors its Baptist heritage. Many of our members are lifelong Baptists and others come from varied denominational and religious backgrounds. We'll be cleaning the garden beds, planting cover crops and garlic and harvesting the last of the black beans.

Wednesday, November 13
4:00 PM - Join us to make black bean soup and cornbread.
5:30 PM (or so) - Join us for dinner and fellowship.
7:00ish PM - Help clean up
You are invited to join us anytime Wednesday evening and stay as long as your schedule allows.
We are collecting granola bars, sanitizing wipes, water bottles, cheese/peanut butter crackers, and socks to place into blessing bags that you can hand to homeless people you meet on your travels.
If you'd like to donate supplies or pick up a couple bags to hand out, stop by the office.
