Last Sunday at First (May 15, 2016)
Sunday, May 15 was Pentecost Sunday. Happy Birthday to the Church.
The day began with a discussion on the struggle for marriage equality in Rhode Island led by Dawn Euer and Ken Fish. The last in a series on relationships, marriage, intimacy and family, the discussion quickly expanded into respecting the rights and dignity of all.
The worship service included a Nigerian praise song, “Alleluia, Praise the Lord”.
The choir was accompanied by NJ and Jideobi Unaka on drums. If you like African music, there will be more on Sunday, June 26th when the Ugandan Youth Choir performs during the worship service. More information.
Hear Jamie’s message for Pentecost, The Spirit is Poured Out Upon all People.
Following the service there was cake for all in Fellowship Hall in celebration of Art Bone’s 80th birthday.
Remember next Sunday is PICA Sunday, bring your nonperishable food items and next Sunday is the last Sunday we will be collecting for One Great Hour of Sharing. Remember your coin boxes.
