Last Sunday at First (March 13, 2016)
America for Christ
Our American Baptist family has a profound heritage as a compassionate, engaging and giving people. Since 1824, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has been declaring and proclaiming the gospel of our Lord in word and deed. Today, ABHMS remains rooted in that Word and committed to responding to the ever-changing needs of churches and communities in the United States and Puerto Rico.
During the month of March we collect the America for Christ Offering. This money supports regional ministries and the ministry of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies. South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is one of the ministries that receives funds because of this offering. America for Christ also supports prison ministries, evangelism, Hispanic ministries and refugee ministries.
Good Friday Walk
Get your walking papers for the Good Friday Walk on March 25. We will be stepping out form South Providence Neighborhood Ministries at 9 AM. The proceeds from this annual walk fights hunger and homelessness in Rhode Island. Visit Good Friday Walk for Hunger RI for more information. Walking papers are available on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall. See Susan Lepore if you would like to make a donation, or you can donate via the website.
Protein for PICA
Avoid the Easter rush – bring in your PICA protein (peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken) this Sunday and place it in the bins in the back of the auditorium.
