Sunday (Nov. 29, 2015) at First
The first Sunday of Advent was marked by the lighting of the first candle of the Advent Wreath by Steve Unruh and his daughter Reshmi.
Ken Clauser, chair of the Mission Committee, told of the success of the church in meeting and surpassing our goals for canned goods for Providence In-Town Church Association Thanksgiving baskets; for gloves, caps and scarves for those who visit Santa’s Workshop at South Providence Neighborhood Ministries; and for food gift cards that SPNM gave in their Thanksgiving baskets.
Ken also announced the December missions projects — the “giving tree” of Christmas gifts for the refugee families, and the collection of the Ministers and Missionaries benefit offering. If you are not in church next Sunday, call Holly in the office to select a child and gift.
And it was a Great Day as our new pastor and her husband N. J. (and son, Jideobi) were officially welcomed by being given the Right Hand of Fellowship.
